Reviews policy

Parent reports are the heart of WhenToGo. This policy explains how we keep them genuine, as UK consumer law requires.
What a report is
After a visit, any parent can tell us how busy it was, what they paid, how long they stayed, and about parking, food and facilities. We combine reports into the figures you see, and show how many reports a figure is based on.
How we stop fake reports
- Every report passes an automatic "are you human" check, and each device and connection can only send a limited number.
- Unusual reports, such as prices or timings far from everyone else's, are held back from the figures until they are checked.
- Free-text notes are read by us before anything from them is used.
- We look regularly for patterns that suggest fake reports, and remove them along with other reports from the same source.
What we never do
- We never write reports ourselves or pay anyone to write them.
- We never hide or remove a genuine report because it is negative.
- Venues can't edit, hide or remove parent reports, including venues that have claimed their page or that we earn commission from.
- If we ever offer rewards for reports (for example an ad-free version for regular reporters), reports made for a reward will be clearly labelled.
When we remove a report
Only if it breaks our terms: fake, about a place the person didn't visit, from someone connected to the venue, containing personal details, offensive or unlawful, or spam.
Report a suspicious report
Email hello@whentogo.co.uk with the place's name and what looks wrong. We aim to look into it within 7 days.
